Program: Kid’s Count at Faith UMC is an after school program that helps children enhance academic performance, improve confidence and build social skills. To support each child, Kid’s Count at Faith UMC will provide 1. A safe, ethical and supportive environment; 2. A setting for children to accomplish academic assignments 3. Tutoring for children in need of assistance in elementary education 4. Cultural, physical, and enrichment opportunities; 5. Events for the whole family.
Job Goal: The Assistant Director will be responsible to support the daily implementation of the Kid’s Count at Faith UMC program.
Qualitifcations: BA or BS degree is desirable but not required. The ideal candidate must have successful experience interacting with children and supervising the daily activities of volunteers and staff. The candidate should be one who has the ability to create a safe, nurturing, and enriching environment for elementary-age children, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with parents. In addition, the candidate should be well-organized and able to manage multiple tasks. He/she must be First Aid and CPR qualified before August 15, 2010. Experience with a personal computer is desirable.
Duties: a. Assist with Kid’s Count Sessions Monday and Wed. (2-6 pm) and Friday 12:30 – 4:30 PM and one hour planning/preparation immediately prior to each day’s session b. Assist in supervision of volunteers c. Help develop positive relationships with parents and caregivers d. Help maintain a safe and orderly environment e. Provide first aid as needed.
Wages are $12-15 per hour.
Further requirements: 1. Background check will be conducted if applicant selected for position. 2. Drug test will be conducted if applicant selected for position. 3. Applicant will pay 50% of the above costs not to exceed $100.
