Dr. Barbara (Bobbi) Korner

Interim Director of Operations

In her retirement, Bobbi has graciously agreed to serve in this role for a period of time. Prior to retiring Bobbi served as the Dean of the College of Arts and Architecture at Penn State University where she had oversight of 7 academic programs with more than 1750 undergraduate and 230 graduate students.  She had oversight for 220 full-time faculty and 140 full-time staff with an annual budget of $34 million, including 195 endowments.

With a strategic priority on private funding, she assisted in raising more than $150 million for the College, and the College’s total endowment more than doubled to $82 million. She was instrumental in obtaining one of the college’s largest single donor gifts, a $20 million commitment. A focus on scholarships resulted in the college nearly doubling the amount of money available for students to more than $1.8 million annually.

Bobbi is a Gator at heart, as before working with Penn State, she was the Associate Dean of Academic and Student Affairs at the UF College of Fine Arts and then the Interim Dean of the College.  She and her husband Jim Korner (who for several years served as Trinity’s Chancel Choir Director) returned to our wonderful community in their retirement.  Sadly, Jim unexpectedly passed away a couple of years ago.

Bobbi is a faithful follower of Christ and lives out her faith as an active and engaged member of Trinity.  She has been a guest preacher for Trinity and several other UMCs as well as offering online devotions.  She is also a part of the Pathfinders Sunday school class and the Discipleship Team.  Many of you know and love her already, and if you don’t, we hope you’ll get to know her soon.  We are grateful for the time and gifts Bobbi is committing to Trinity and excited about her becoming part of Team Trinity!
