Instead of handing out money, you can give them a bag of grace which includes the following items: Bottle of water, non-perishable food items, new pair of socks, personal hygiene items, and Gainesville Street Card (info for homeless in our area). Interested in being part of giving back to our community through environmental action? TUMC has been asked by Alachua County Forever to adopt a local nature preserve area (since you guys did such a great job on the 1000 Hour Workday). Our group would get together a few times a year and take care our “adopted” area. Tasks might include trash clean-ups, invasive species removal, trail development, trail maintenance, sign fabrication, ecosystem restoration, construction projects.
