Trinity offers encouragement, practical support and prayer to people in need through our Care and Support Ministries. We strive to meet the spiritual, emotional, physical, and relational needs of those God bring to us.

Healing Touch: A Christian Cancer Support Group - This group is open to all cancer patients and survivors as well as their family and friends. Scripture and prayer are vital aspects of this monthly gathering, where people feel safe to discuss treatments, survivorship, healing and wholeness. Meetings are held on the third Thursday of each month at TUMC, in the O. Dean Martin Prayer Room at 5:30 pm. For information regarding this group, contact Marcey Corey at 331-2960 or Rose Manuel at 375-1803.

Metamorphosis “An Eight Week Journey Through Grief” - This group is for anyone grieving the death of a loved one. Contact us at 376-6615 for more information.

Order of St. Luke: A Healing Ministry of Prayer, Study and Action - This group meets the fourth Sunday in the Chapel at 6:00 pm. The team will also go to homes for prayer with someone who is ill. "Send those who are wise in the faith to anoint me with oil and pray over me the prayer of faith. You, Lord, will raise me up." James 5:14-15

Faith Community Nursing - The goal of FCN is to assist the congregation to make better, more informed decisions about their health. We can help by explaining your medications and helping you understand your current therapy regime. We can also refer you to services that may be able to help you further, including assistance through the quagmire of Medicare/Medicaide. As nurses, we cannot diagnose illness or make decisions for people. We are looking for volunteers to step forward and provide their expertise in a variety of areas. Overcomers Outreach: A Bridge Between the Traditional 12-Step Programs and the Church - Overcomers Outreach (O.O.) is a journey of hope! Through applying the truth of scripture, working the 12 steps, and sharing in fellowship with other overcomers, O.O. participants let go of past hurts, triumph over current problems, and learn to depend on God. O.O. meets weekly on Monday evenings, Room 211, 6:30-8:00pm. Childcare provided. Contact Jim 352.472.7975 or Brendan at 352.870.5504.

Prayer Ministry Team - Those requesting prayer through TUMC attendance slips or from prayer request forms, are added weekly to an updated prayer concern list. These concerns and/or praises are then sent to the team members who use their daily prayer time in consideration of these requests. You may also call the church office at 376-6615 to be added to the prayer list.

Stephen Ministry: A One on One Caring Ministry - A lay ministry created to offer caring compassionate listeners to people going through a difficult transition. A Stephen Minister may help you on your journey toward wholeness, renewal, and healing by being a spiritual companion and soul friend. Stephen Ministers have completed 50+ hours of training, and also take an oath of confidentiality. Contact Kay Walker at 336-2006.

Stephen Ministry Training this fall:

Do you have a gift for listening? Would you like to fine tune that gift through wonderful training and become one of the most important persons in Trinity's ministry? A Stephen Minister receives 50 hours of excellent training and then is ready for the absolutely vital ministry of "coming alongside" a person who needs a listening ear, meeting with that person once a week or so and becoming a bridge to renewed wholeness. It is, without doubt, a most vital ministry.  Classes will begin September 28, but there are a minimum number of participants required in order to have the training. Please let us know today! Visitation To the Homebound - Visits are made monthly to people who cannot otherwise leave their homes. Our parish visitor extends the love of the Christ to each one through the sharing, listening, and prayer time. Lives are enriched and blessed by these caring visits. Please contact Pat Kilby at 376-2219.

Hospital Visitation Ministry - The love and concern of our church family is brought to those who are ill. Members of this ministry team visit area hospitals and rehab centers on a regular basis. If you or someone you know is in or will be in the hospital, please notify the Church Office at 376-6615.

Widows and Widowers- If you have lost your spouse, you know that grief and challenges produced are different from all other losses. There are identity crisis, major decisions to be made, health issues, and financial changes just to name a few. We hope this group can be a safe place of sharing and learning new ways of growing as a result of your loss. This group meets the first Tuesday of each month at Joe's Place  on NW 39th Avenue at 5:30 PM. A subset of the group also meets on the 3rd Tuesday of each month, same time and place. Contact Lynn Cunningham at 372-1027.

Friendship Disability Ministry: The Friendship Disability Ministry at Trinity connects people with disabilities and their families with the church.   Our goal is to extend God's love to all through worship opportunities, fellowship and bible study.   We provide "buddies" at Sunday School so children with special needs can be fully included in all activities.   We host special events for children with special needs such as the annual Easter Egg Hunt, Christmas Hayride, and Vacation Bible School.  We host fundraisers, such as the annual Talent/No Talent Show and Pie Auction to raise money for equipment including Trinity's accessible van and playgrounds.   A group of committed individuals meet regularly to plan events and find more ways to open doors at Trinity for people with disabilities.
