The CMT Challenge is for all CROSSWALK classes to bring in children’s books and gently loved stuffed animals for our Summer Missions – Hawthorne Book Distribution and Teddy Bear Patrol. Children are to bring these items to their classroom to be tallied by their teachers. The winning Preschool and Elementary classes will get a surprise celebration! At CROSSWALK, our mission is to make and grow disciples! Each year, children have a special discipleship goal which they learn about in their CROSSWALK classes. These goals help us to keep children focused on a path of spiritual growth as they grow from Little Lambs through to Fifth Grade. At Trinity UMC, we believe that parents are the most important spiritual leaders of their children. We hope that the CROSSWALK program helps your whole family stay focused on your own CROSSWALK!
CROSSWALK is offered for infants through Fifth graders at both our 9:40 am & 11:00 am worship hours. At 9:40, each age group focuses on a particular discipleship topic throughout the year such as Prayer or Bible Principles and participates in music lessons led by our Children’s Music Director. Once a year, children also have the opportunity to celebrate their discipleship goals and share what they’ve learned with you in a special way. At these celebrations, families are encouraged to attend CROSSWALK with their children and share their excitement about what they’ve learned. In addition to their discipleship lessons, children who attend our 11:00 CROSSWALK program will learn all about aspects of traditional worship such the Apostles’ Creed and The Lord’s Prayer. First - Fifth graders check in at the front of the Worship Center and participate in the first fifteen minutes of our 11:00 service. (Kindergarteners check into room 111 and join the older children in the Worship Center for the Children’s Chat.) At this service, children either sit with their families or with CROSSWALK volunteers at the front of the Worship Center. After the Children’s Chat, children experience a weekly rotation of drama, cooking, crafts, games or science activities centered around their discipleship goals. Summer Sunday School Sign up to teach Summer Sunday School (June 20-August 15)! We provide fun curriculum that tells you exactly what to say and do. All parents of infants and toddlers will be given a silent pager when checking in their child and will return the pager when picking up their child.
